Description

The PIGL (phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class L) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

PIGL catalyzes the second step in the biosynthesis of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI), specifically the de-N-acetylation of N-acetylglucosaminyl-phosphatidylinositol.
