LRRK1

Description

The LRRK1 (leucine rich repeat kinase 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

Leucine-rich repeat serine/threonine-protein kinase 1 is an enzyme produced by the LRRK1 gene in humans.

This gene plays a role in the negative regulation of bone mass. It acts by affecting the maturation of osteoclasts, which are cells that break down bone tissue.

LRRK1 is also known as OSMD, RIPK6, Roco1.
