DYNC2LI1

Description

The DYNC2LI1 (dynein cytoplasmic 2 light intermediate chain 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

DYNC2LI1 is a non-catalytic accessory component of the cytoplasmic dynein 2 complex (dynein-2 complex), a motor protein complex that moves cargos along microtubules within cilia and flagella. This movement is coordinated with the intraflagellar transport (IFT) system and is essential for the assembly of these organelles. DYNC2LI1 plays a role in regulating ciliary length.

DYNC2LI1 is also known as CGI-60, D2LIC, LIC3.
