MAT2B

Description

The MAT2B (methionine adenosyltransferase 2 non-catalytic beta subunit) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

MAT2B is a regulatory subunit of S-adenosylmethionine synthetase 2 (MAT2A). It enhances MAT2A's activity by altering its kinetic properties and increasing its affinity for L-methionine. MAT2B can bind NADP in vitro. These interactions are crucial for regulating S-adenosylmethionine synthesis.

MAT2B is also known as MAT-II, MATIIbeta, Nbla02999, SDR23E1, TGR.
