MAGI3

Description

The MAGI3 (membrane associated guanylate kinase, WW and PDZ domain containing 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Membrane-associated guanylate kinase, WW and PDZ domain-containing protein 3 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MAGI3 gene.

MAGI3 acts as a scaffolding protein at cell-cell junctions, playing a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes and signaling pathways. It cooperates with PTEN to modulate the kinase activity of AKT1, and its interaction with PTPRB and tyrosine phosphorylated proteins suggests a role in linking receptor tyrosine phosphatase with its substrates at the plasma membrane. In polarized epithelial cells, MAGI3 is involved in the efficient trafficking of TGFA to the cell surface. It also regulates the ability of LPAR2 to activate ERK and RhoA pathways, and regulates the JNK signaling cascade through its interaction with FZD4 and VANGL2.

MAGI3 is also known as MAGI-3, dJ730K3.2.
