LUZP4

Description

The LUZP4 (leucine zipper protein 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

LUZP4 is an export adapter involved in the transport of messenger RNA (mRNA) from the nucleus to the cytoplasm in cancer cells. It directly interacts with and enhances the RNA-binding activity of the nuclear RNA export factor NXF1. Furthermore, LUZP4 can restore mRNA export function in cells that have lost other mRNA export adapters, suggesting its crucial role in maintaining proper gene expression.

LUZP4 is also known as CT-28, CT-8, CT28, HOM-TES-85.
