The LTK (leukocyte receptor tyrosine kinase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

LTK is a gene that codes for the Leukocyte tyrosine kinase receptor. It is a member of the receptor tyrosine kinase family of cell surface receptors and has tyrosine-protein kinase activity. The protein plays a role in cell signaling, promoting growth and neurite outgrowth. It is also involved in the regulation of the secretory pathway.

LTK is a receptor tyrosine kinase that acts as a signal transducer. It is activated by ALKAL1 or ALKAL2 ligands at the cell surface, converting an extracellular signal into an intracellular response. Ligand binding induces tyrosine kinase activation, leading to activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway. LTK preferentially phosphorylates the first tyrosine of the Y-x-x-x-Y-Y motif. The precise function of LTK is still unknown, but studies using chimeric proteins indicate its involvement in promoting growth, neurite outgrowth, and cell survival. LTK also participates in the regulation of the secretory pathway, specifically in processes related to endoplasmic reticulum (ER) export sites (ERESs) and ER-to-Golgi transport.

LTK is also known as TYK1.
