LSM10

Description

The LSM10 (LSM10, U7 small nuclear RNA associated) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

LSM10 is a protein encoded by the LSM10 gene in humans. It's associated with U7 snRNA and is a Sm-like protein. LSM10 has been shown to interact with LSM3.

LSM10 plays a role in the U7 snRNP complex, which is involved in histone 3' end processing. While overexpressing LSM10 increases U7 snRNA levels, it does not boost histone 3' end pre-mRNA processing activity. It's essential for cell cycle progression from G1 to S phases. LSM10 specifically binds to U7 snRNA and interacts with the downstream cleavage product (DCP) of histone pre-mRNA in a U7 snRNP dependent manner.

LSM10 is also known as MST074, MSTP074.
