LRRIQ3

Description

The LRRIQ3 (leucine rich repeats and IQ motif containing 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

LRRIQ3 (Leucine-rich repeats and IQ motif containing 3), also known as LRRC44, is a protein encoded by the LRRIQ3 gene in humans. It's primarily found in the testes and has been linked to several diseases. The gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 1 (1p31.1). It has 7 exons and produces two main protein isoforms: one with 624 amino acids and another with 464. LRRIQ3 is expressed at low levels in various human and rat tissues, with the highest expression in the testes. Other tissues with significant expression include T cells, epididymis, kidney, and several glands. The longer isoform of LRRIQ3 is a 73.7 kDa protein with a basic nature (isoelectric point of 9.73). Antibody staining suggests that it localizes to the cell membrane.

LRRIQ3 is also known as LRRC44.
