LRRC26

Description

The LRRC26 (leucine rich repeat containing 26) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

LRRC26 (Leucine rich repeat containing 26) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LRRC26 gene.

LRRC26 functions as an auxiliary protein for the large-conductance, voltage and calcium-activated potassium channel (BK alpha). It plays a crucial role in transforming BK alpha channels from a high-voltage to a low-voltage activated channel type in non-excitable cells. These cells are distinguished by their negative membrane voltages and stable low levels of calcium.

LRRC26 is also known as CAPC, bA350O14.10.
