LRRC19
Description
The LRRC19 (leucine rich repeat containing 19) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.
LRRC19 is a pathogen-recognition receptor that activates the TRAF2- and TRAF6 NF-kappa-B signaling pathways, leading to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. It plays a role in protecting the kidney from uropathogenic bacterial infections by stimulating the production of cytokines, chemokines, and antimicrobial substances. In the gut, LRRC19 is involved in host-microbiota interactions, promoting immune cell recruitment and intestinal inflammation.
LRRC19 is also known as -.
