LPPR5

Low Lipoprotein Particle Level (LPPR5): A Comprehensive Guide

Description

Low lipoprotein particle level (LPPR5) is a measure of the number of lipoprotein particles in the bloodstream. Lipoproteins are molecules that transport cholesterol and triglycerides through the body. High levels of LPPR5 are associated with an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases.

LPPR5 levels can be measured through a blood test. A normal LPPR5 level is less than 1,000 nmol/L. Levels above this threshold are considered high.

Associated Diseases

High LPPR5 levels are associated with the following diseases:

  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Peripheral artery disease
  • Atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries)
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Type 2 diabetes

Did you Know ?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 100 million adults in the United States have high LPPR5 levels. This number is expected to increase to over 130 million by 2030.
