LIMCH1
Description
The LIMCH1 (LIM and calponin homology domains 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.
LIM and calponin homology domains-containing protein 1 (LIMCH1) is a protein encoded by the LIMCH1 gene in humans.
LIMCH1, an actin stress fiber-associated protein, activates non-muscle myosin IIa by promoting the phosphorylation of its regulatory subunit MRLC/MYL9. This activation positively regulates actin stress fiber assembly and stabilizes focal adhesions. Consequently, LIMCH1 negatively regulates cell spreading and migration.
LIMCH1 is also known as LIMCH1A, LMO7B.
