LDAH

Description

The LDAH (lipid droplet associated hydrolase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

LDAH is a probable serine lipid hydrolase that localizes to lipid droplets. Although it lacks significant cholesterol esterase and triglyceride lipase activity, it is highly expressed in macrophage-rich areas of atherosclerotic lesions, suggesting a role in cholesterol ester turnover within macrophages.

LDAH is also known as C2orf43, hLDAH.
