LCORL

Description

The LCORL (ligand dependent nuclear receptor corepressor like) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

The LCORL gene produces a transcription factor involved in spermatogenesis. Variations within this gene are linked to skeletal frame size and adult height. Multiple transcript variations arise from alternative splicing.

LCoR-like protein acts as a transcription activator that binds to specific DNA sequences, specifically 5'-CCCTATCGATCGATCTCTACCT-3'. It is believed to play a role in spermatogenesis, the process of sperm cell development.

LCORL is also known as MLR1.
