KRT33B
Description
The KRT33B (keratin 33B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.
Keratin, type I cuticular Ha3-II is a protein encoded by the KRT33B gene in humans. It belongs to the keratin gene family, specifically the type I hair keratin genes. These genes are clustered on chromosome 17q12-q21 and share the same transcription direction. As a type I hair keratin, it's an acidic protein that pairs with type II hair keratin to form hair and nails.
KRT33B is also known as HA3II, Ha-3II, K33B, KRTHA3A, KRTHA3B, hHa3-II.
