KLF5

Description

The KLF5 (KLF transcription factor 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

KLF5 is a protein encoded by the KLF5 gene in humans. It belongs to the Kruppel-like factor subfamily of zinc finger proteins and functions as a transcription factor. It localizes to the nucleus and binds the epidermal growth factor response element. KLF5 has been shown to interact with Protein SET. Higher KLF5 expression has been linked to improved survival rates for lung cancer patients.

KLF5 is a transcription factor that binds to GC box promoter elements, activating the transcription of target genes.

KLF5 is also known as BTEB2, CKLF, IKLF.
