Description

The ITM2A (integral membrane protein 2A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

The ITM2A gene encodes Integral membrane protein 2A, a protein involved in the differentiation of bone and cartilage cells (osteoblasts and chondrocytes, respectively). It also plays a role in the activation of T-cells within the immune system and in the differentiation of myocytes (muscle cells).
