Description
The IQCJ-SCHIP1 (IQCJ-SCHIP1 readthrough) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.
This protein may be involved in the transmission of electrical signals (action potentials) in nerve cells covered in myelin (myelinated cells). It achieves this by organizing specific groups of molecules at specialized areas called nodes of Ranvier and axon initial segments. Additionally, it might be involved in the growth and direction of nerve fibers (axons).
