INTS5
Description
The INTS5 (integrator complex subunit 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.
INTS5 is a subunit of the Integrator complex, which plays a crucial role in the transcription and 3'-box-dependent processing of the small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) U1 and U2. The Integrator complex binds to the C-terminal domain (CTD) of RNA polymerase II largest subunit (POLR2A) and is likely recruited to the U1 and U2 snRNA genes. Additionally, INTS5 is involved in the recruitment of cytoplasmic dynein to the nuclear envelope, possibly as part of the Integrator complex.
INTS5 is also known as INT5, KIAA1698.
