INTS2

Description

The INTS2 (integrator complex subunit 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

INTS2 is a subunit of the Integrator (INT) complex, which plays a vital role in the transcription of small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) U1 and U2 and their 3'-box-dependent processing. The INT complex binds to the C-terminal domain (CTD) of RNA polymerase II's largest subunit (POLR2A) and is likely recruited to the U1 and U2 snRNA genes. It is also thought to facilitate the recruitment of cytoplasmic dynein to the nuclear envelope, possibly as part of the INT complex.

INTS2 is also known as INT2, KIAA1287.
