INO80

Description

The INO80 (INO80 complex ATPase subunit) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

The INO80 complex is an ATPase-dependent chromatin remodeling complex that is involved in a variety of cellular processes, including transcriptional regulation, DNA replication, and DNA repair. The complex remodels chromatin by shifting nucleosomes, which can affect the accessibility of DNA to other proteins. INO80 is also involved in regulating the transcription of genes, particularly those activated by the transcription factor YY1. In addition, INO80 plays a role in DNA repair, particularly in response to UV damage. INO80 is also required for microtubule assembly during mitosis, which is essential for proper chromosome segregation. INO80 is also known as INO80A, INOC1.
