UNG

Description

The UNG (uracil DNA glycosylase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

UNG, or UNG, is a gene that refers to the enzyme Uracil-DNA glycosylase (UDG). It's a vital part of DNA repair and helps maintain the accuracy of our genetic code.

UNG removes uracil bases from DNA. Uracil can be incorporated by mistake during DNA replication or form from cytosine through chemical changes.

UNG is also known as DGU, HIGM4, HIGM5, UDG, UNG1, UNG15, UNG2.
