RPL35

Description

The RPL35 (ribosomal protein L35) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

RPL35 is a gene that encodes a ribosomal protein found in the 60S subunit of ribosomes, the cellular organelles responsible for protein synthesis. Ribosomes consist of two subunits: a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. The RPL35 protein belongs to the L29P family of ribosomal proteins and is located in the cytoplasm. There are multiple pseudogenes of the RPL35 gene scattered throughout the genome.

RPL35 is a component of the large ribosomal subunit, which is responsible for protein synthesis in the cell. This function is supported by multiple studies, including those published in PubMed IDs 12962325, 23636399, and 32669547.

RPL35 is also known as DBA19, L35, uL29.
