NPAT

Description

The NPAT (nuclear protein, coactivator of histone transcription) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

NPAT or Npat may refer to:

NPAT is essential for the progression through the G1 and S phases of the cell cycle and for entry into S phase. It activates the transcription of histone H2A, histone H2B, histone H3, and histone H4 genes in collaboration with MIZF. Additionally, it positively regulates the ATM, MIZF, and PRKDC promoters. The mechanism of transcriptional activation involves recruitment of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex to target gene promoters.

NPAT is also known as E14, E14/NPAT, p220.
