FCHO1
Description
The FCHO1 (FCH and mu domain containing endocytic adaptor 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.
FCHO1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FCHO1 gene.
FCHO1 plays a crucial role in the early stages of clathrin-mediated endocytosis. It exhibits both membrane binding and bending capabilities, facilitating the recruitment of essential proteins for the formation of functional clathrin-coated pits. FCHO1 is involved in regulating Bmp signaling by controlling the clathrin-mediated endocytosis of Bmp receptors. Additionally, it contributes to the regulation of T-cell proliferation and activation by influencing TCR clustering and internalization, thus impacting TCR-dependent T-cell activation.
FCHO1 is also known as IMD76.
