DNAJC21

Description

The DNAJC21 (DnaJ heat shock protein family (Hsp40) member C21) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

DNAJC21 potentially acts as a co-chaperone for HSP70. It may also be involved in ribosomal RNA (rRNA) biogenesis, specifically in the maturation of the 60S subunit. DNAJC21 binds to the precursor 45S rRNA.

DNAJC21 is also known as BMFS3, DNAJA5, GS3, JJJ1.
