CD3G

Description

The CD3G gene encodes a subunit of the CD3 complex, a crucial component of the T cell receptor (TCR) complex. This complex plays a central role in T cell activation and signaling, mediating the recognition of antigen presented by antigen-presenting cells (APCs). CD3G, along with other CD3 subunits (CD3D, CD3E, CD3γ, and CD3δ), forms a heteromeric complex that associates with the TCR αβ heterodimer. This interaction is essential for TCR signaling, which initiates a cascade of events leading to T cell proliferation, differentiation, and effector functions. Mutations in the CD3G gene can disrupt TCR signaling, resulting in various immunodeficiency disorders.
