IFT46

Description

The IFT46 (intraflagellar transport 46) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

IFT46 is a protein involved in intraflagellar transport (IFT), a process that moves particles within primary cilia. This movement is essential for the assembly, maintenance, and function of these cilia. IFT46 may also play a role in the maturation of chondrocytes, the cells that make up cartilage, and in skeletogenesis, the formation of the skeleton.

IFT46 is also known as C11orf2, C11orf60, CFAP32, FAP32.
