ANKRD26

Description

The ANKRD26 (ankyrin repeat domain containing 26) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 26 (ANKRD26) is a protein encoded by the ANKRD26 gene located on chromosome 10, at 10q21. The gene spans 6816 base pairs in the reference sequence mRNA transcript. Its function is not fully understood. ANKRD26 is located next to LOC100289548 (PUTAETIVE UNCHARACTERIZED PROTEIN C10ORF52-LIKE) on the left (3') and NCRNA00202 non-protein coding RNA 202 on the right. On the 5' end of ANKRD26, YME1L1 can be found, which encodes the YME1-like 1 protein, an ortholog of yeast mitochondrial AAA metalloprotease.

ANKRD26 is also known as THC2, bA145E8.1.
