GPR62

Description

The GPR62 (G protein-coupled receptor 62) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

Probable G-protein coupled receptor 62 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GPR62 gene.

GPR62 is an orphan G-protein coupled receptor. It constitutively activates the G(q/11)/inositol phosphate and the G(s)-alpha/cAMP signaling pathways. It has spontaneous activity for beta-arrestin recruitment. GPR62 shows a reciprocal modulation of signaling functions with the melatonin receptor MTNR1B, likely through receptor heteromerization.

GPR62 is also known as GPCR8, KPG_005.
