GPR155

Description

The GPR155 (G protein-coupled receptor 155) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

GPR155 is a protein encoded by the GPR155 gene. It is an integral membrane protein and a G protein-coupled receptor. Mutations in this gene may be linked to autism.

GPR155/LYCHOS is a cholesterol-binding protein that regulates the mTORC1 signaling pathway. It acts as a sensor of cholesterol sufficiency, binding cholesterol when present and disrupting the interaction between GATOR1 and KICSTOR complexes to promote mTORC1 signaling. In the absence of cholesterol, GPR155/LYCHOS is unable to disrupt this interaction, leading to mTORC1 signaling inhibition.

GPR155 is also known as DEP.7, DEPDC3, LYCHOS, PGR22.
