GLTP

Description

The GLTP (glycolipid transfer protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

GLTP is a protein encoded by the GLTP gene in humans. It is similar to proteins found in cows and pigs that speed up the transfer of certain types of glycolipids between cell membranes. It is believed to reside within the cytoplasm of cells.

GLTP accelerates the transfer of various glycolipids between membranes, particularly glycosphingolipids, but not phospholipids. It may play a role in the movement of glucosylceramides within cells.

GLTP is also known as -.
