GDPD3

Description

The GDPD3 (glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase domain containing 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

GDPD3 is an enzyme that hydrolyzes lysoglycerophospholipids, specifically lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and the corresponding amines, such as 1-O-alkyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (lyso-PAF), lysophosphatidylcholine (lyso-PC) and N-acylethanolamine lysophospholipids. It does not demonstrate glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase activity, meaning it cannot hydrolyze glycerophosphoinositol or glycerophosphocholine.

GDPD3 is also known as GDE7.
