FIZ1

Description

The FIZ1 (FLT3 interacting zinc finger 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

The FIZ1 gene encodes a zinc finger protein that interacts with FLT3, a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in regulating hematopoietic and lymphoid cells. It also interacts with a transcription factor that regulates the expression of rod-specific genes in the retina.

FIZ1 may act as a transcriptional repressor of NRL function in photoreceptor cells. However, it does not appear to repress the transactivation activity of CRX.

FIZ1 is also known as ZNF798.
