FCN2
Description
The FCN2 (ficolin 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.
The FCN2 gene encodes Ficolin-2, a protein belonging to the ficolin family. These proteins share a common structure with a leader peptide, a short N-terminal segment, a collagen-like region, and a C-terminal fibrinogen-like domain. The gene is primarily expressed in the liver and demonstrates carbohydrate binding and opsonic activities. Multiple isoforms have been identified due to alternative splicing.
FCN2 is also known as EBP-37, FCNL, P35, ficolin-2.
