FBXO33
Description
The FBXO33 (F-box protein 33) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.
FBXO33 is a component of the SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex. This complex targets proteins for degradation by attaching ubiquitin molecules, leading to their breakdown by the proteasome. FBXO33 likely recognizes and binds to phosphorylated target proteins, and it has been shown to interact with YBX1. This suggests that FBXO33 may play a role in regulating the levels of YBX1 and other proteins within the cell.
FBXO33 is also known as BMND12, Fbx33, c14_5247.
