FBXO28

Description

The FBXO28 (F-box protein 28) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

FBXO28, encoded by the FBXO28 gene in humans, is a protein belonging to the F-box protein family. These proteins are characterized by a distinctive 40-amino acid F-box motif. FBXO28 forms part of SCF complexes, which are protein-ubiquitin ligases composed of SKP1, cullin, and F-box proteins. These complexes play a role in protein degradation.

FBXO28 likely recognizes and binds to certain phosphorylated proteins, leading to their ubiquitination and subsequent degradation.

FBXO28 is also known as CENP-30, DEE100, Fbx28.
