FAM120A

Description

The FAM120A (family with sequence similarity 120 member A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

FAM120A is a gene that encodes for a protein called Constitutive coactivator of PPAR-gamma-like protein 1. This protein is found in humans.

FAM120A plays a crucial role in cellular survival under oxidative stress. It regulates the activation of SRC family protein kinases, potentially acting as a scaffolding protein to facilitate their phosphorylation and activation of PI3-kinase. Moreover, FAM120A binds to IGF2 RNA, promoting the production of IGF2 protein.

FAM120A is also known as C9orf10, HBVPTPAP, OSSA.
