EXOC3-AS1
Description
The EXOC3-AS1 (EXOC3 antisense RNA 1) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 5.
EXOC3-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that is located on chromosome 11. It is approximately 1,000 nucleotides long and is transcribed from the opposite strand of the EXOC3 gene. It is thought to be involved in the regulation of gene expression.
The function of EXOC3-AS1 is not yet fully understood, but it is thought to play a role in regulating gene expression. It has been shown to interact with the protein EXOC3, which is involved in the formation of protein complexes that transport proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus. This suggests that EXOC3-AS1 may play a role in protein trafficking. It has also been found to be differentially expressed in various cancer types, suggesting it may be involved in tumorigenesis. Further research is needed to fully elucidate the functions of this lncRNA.
EXOC3-AS1 is also known as C5orf55.
