ERGIC3

Description

The ERGIC3 (ERGIC and golgi 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

ERGIC3, encoded by the ERGIC3 gene, is a protein involved in intracellular transport. Its expression is regulated by microRNAs, and it may play a role in cancer development.

ERGIC3 plays a role in transporting proteins between the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus. It specifically promotes the movement of secretory proteins such as alpha1-antitrypsin (SERPINA1) and haptoglobin (HP).

ERGIC3 is also known as C20orf47, C2orf47, CGI-54, Erv46, NY-BR-84, PRO0989, SDBCAG84, dJ477O4.2.
