ERCC6L

Description

The ERCC6L (ERCC excision repair 6 like, spindle assembly checkpoint helicase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

ERCC6L is a DNA helicase that acts as a tension sensor. It associates with catenated DNA and stretches it under tension until it is resolved during anaphase. ERCC6L functions as an ATP-dependent DNA translocase. It can promote Holliday junction branch migration in vitro.

ERCC6L is also known as PICH, RAD26L.
