EML3

Description

The EML3 (EMAP like 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

EML3 plays a crucial role in orchestrating accurate chromosome segregation during cell division. It facilitates the formation of the mitotic spindle, a structure essential for separating chromosomes, by recruiting the HAUS complex and TUBG1 proteins to existing microtubules. This recruitment helps in the growth and assembly of new microtubules, ultimately ensuring proper chromosome alignment during metaphase.

EML3 is also known as ELP95, EMAP3, EMAP95.
