ELP6

Description

The ELP6 (elongator acetyltransferase complex subunit 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

The ELP6 protein is a component of the elongator complex, which plays a crucial role in modifying transfer RNA (tRNA) molecules. Specifically, it contributes to the formation of carboxymethyluridine at position 34 in tRNAs, a modification vital for proper translation. Additionally, ELP6 is involved in cell migration, although the exact mechanisms are yet to be fully understood.

ELP6 is also known as C3orf75, TMEM103.
