EIF4B

Description

The EIF4B (eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

eIF4B is a protein produced from the EIF4B gene in humans. It helps bring together the small ribosomal subunit (40S) and mRNA, a key step in protein synthesis. It achieves this by interacting with and activating eIF4A and binding to the eIF3 complex through its eIF3A subunit.

EIF4B is also known as EIF-4B, PRO1843.
