EFR3B

Description

The EFR3B (EFR3 homolog B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

EFR3B is a component of a complex that is required for localizing phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase (PI4K) to the plasma membrane. This complex acts as a regulator of phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PtdIns(4)P) synthesis. Within this complex, EFR3B likely acts as the membrane-anchoring component. EFR3B is also involved in responsiveness to G-protein-coupled receptors, although the mechanism of this involvement is unclear.

EFR3B is also known as KIAA0953.
