EFR3A

Description

The EFR3A (EFR3 homolog A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

EFR3A is part of a complex that localizes phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase (PI4K) to the plasma membrane, which in turn regulates phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PtdIns(4)P) synthesis. EFR3A likely acts as the membrane anchor within this complex. EFR3A also plays a role in responsiveness to G-protein-coupled receptors, although the mechanism is unclear.

EFR3A is also known as -.
