EDIL3

Description

The EDIL3 (EGF like repeats and discoidin domains 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

EGF like repeats and discoidin domains 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the EDIL3 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is an integrin ligand. It plays an important role in mediating angiogenesis and may be important in vessel wall remodeling and development. It also influences endothelial cell behavior.

EDIL3 promotes the adhesion of endothelial cells by interacting with the alpha-v/beta-3 integrin receptor. It also inhibits the formation of vascular-like structures, suggesting a role in regulating vascular morphogenesis and remodeling during embryonic development.

EDIL3 is also known as DEL1.
