ECE2

Description

The ECE2 (endothelin converting enzyme 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

ECE2, also known as endothelin-converting enzyme 2, is involved in the conversion of big endothelin-1 to endothelin-1. It also participates in the processing of various neuroendocrine peptides, such as neurotensin, angiotensin I, substance P, proenkephalin-derived peptides, and prodynorphin-derived peptides. Additionally, ECE2 may play a role in amyloid-beta processing.

ECE2 is also known as EEF1AKMT4.
