ECE1

Description

The ECE1 (endothelin converting enzyme 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Endothelin converting enzyme 1, also known as ECE1, is an enzyme encoded by the ECE1 gene in humans. ECE-1 plays a role in the proteolytic processing of endothelin-1 (EDN1), -2 (EDN2), and -3 (EDN3) to biologically active peptides.

Converts big endothelin-1 to endothelin-1.

ECE1 is also known as ECE.
